The Sampoorna Kranti Express, a train service facilitated by the Indian Railways, connects the capital city of New Delhi with Patna. Acclaimed under the category of super fast trains, it began its operation in the year 2002. The Sampoorna Kranti Express overtook the Magadh Express and Sharamjeevi Express connecting Patna and New Delhi by covering the distance of 999 km in less than fifteen hours. The train stops at the stopping of Kanpur Central and the Mughalsarai stopping. In case of any technical emergency, the train usually assumes a longer time to cover the distance. In 2008, the division of Danapur under the East Central Railway zone had added new coaches to modify the services provided by the Sampoorna Kranti trains. To meet the increasing number of passengers, 99 new berths were added. Each sleeper of the Sampoorna Kranti running in the Danapur division has now 81 berths in every sleeper. This addition had helped the Indian Railways to add to its revenue another three and a half crore rupees.
Sampoorna Kranti Express: A Valuable Addition to the Super Fast Train Services
The train leaves the Patna station at 6:20 in the evening to reach New Delhi next morning at 8:20. For the return journey, the train leaves at 6:10 in the evening from the New Delhi railway station to reach Patna next morning at 8:45. The train is a compounding of 17 coaches including one AC first class, one AC second class, two AC third class, six sleeper class, four general coaches, two SLR and one pantry car. With its speedy journey from Patna to New Delhi and back, it has become the fourth of the super fast trains running from Patna to New Delhi. The other three are Magadh Express, Rajdhani Express and Sharamjeevi Express.
The bookings of tickets for these trains take place in the computerized counters for reservation in the respective divisions of the train. The Express takes an overnight journey, stopping at the Kanpur Central to board up armed personnel to forefend bandits around the rail tracks of Bihar from robbing the passengers. The Sampoorna Kranti Express has been modeled to serve the rich class and the poor class equally. The Sampoorna Kranti served as a model for the creation of Sampark Kranti Express.
Online booking facility for the Sampoorna Kranti trains can be availed from the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporate Limited (IRCTC). After checking the schedule and the timetable of the trains, the users can make their reservation through either E ticketing or I-ticketing. The confirmation of the ticket depends on the availability of the berths and seats on the train.
